About Us

Jungle Arts and Flora actually dates back to 1982 when David McLanahan and Gail Tanaka first traveled in Asia and experienced tropical jungles and the cultures and arts of indigenous peoples. Since then they have made at least 30 trips to Asia, trekked in many jungles, developed a love of the arts and textiles, tropical plants and fruit, and built a greenhouse in West Seattle, Washington. This led to an extensive collection of high quality arts and crafts from Borneo, Nagaland, Papua New Guinea, Irian Jaya, Thailand, Nagaland, Myanmar, Nepal and other areas where they have traveled. Also, they have collected and grown many unique plants they encountered in these areas.

David and Gail decided to share this love of arts and crafts of indigenous peoples and tropical plants with others and connect this addiction with a small business - Jungle Arts and Flora.
