| Naga dao. Early/mid 20th. Iron, wood, rattan, goat hair. Both cutting tool and weapon. Obtained via eBay in 2001 with the following description - "From an old European tea plantation owner's estate, comes this Naga Peoples (Konyak Group) Head Hunting DAO Sword, circa early 1900's, with authentic and colorful attached red and black goat hair. Measurements: 29" in length with an 8" long blade . Old forged blade exhibiting fine old patina. Shaft still retains virtually all of the fine old cane yellow wrap." |
