| Naga dao holder and belt. Late 19th- Early 20th century. Likely Konyak. The hard wood holder is decorated with three incised figures and has plumes of human hair around the edges. The belt is secured to the holder with natural rope fiber and is composed of two thin pieces of bent wood (measuring 5" tall) which is covered with woven cloth and embellished with Jacob's tears seeds. Wooden toggles at the back keep the belt closed and secured onto the wearer. Obtained from Tribalmania in 2002 |
